City of Solana Beach Rooftop Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Energy Systems Expedited Review

Effective September 30, 2015, Solana Beach implemented the California State Assembly Bill (AB) 2188 guidelines for rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV), solar water heating (WH) and solar pool heating (PH) installations. Pursuant to AB 2188 and the Solana Beach Municipal Code, qualifying installations utilizing our Permit Application, Checklists and Plan Information Bulletins will be expedited for plan review and inspections.

• To see if our rooftop solar PV system is eligible and qualifies for expedited review, please read the following handouts before you proceed to print out and submit your application.
• If your rooftop solar PV system qualifies for expedited review you may submit the Building Permit Application to Counter@cityofsolanabeach.ca.gov to begin the process.
• Payment is due at the time of permit issuance.
• All Plans (electronic and/or paper) - Please provide the required 3” (Tall) x 2” (Wide) blank space designated “For City Stamps” on all sheets of the construction documents in the same location of the title block. Jurisdiction requirement. Section 107.2.1 CBC
