A People's Guide to Immigration History in Solana Beach

Join The Friends of the Solana Beach Library (FOSBL) in collaboration with Solana Beach Civic & Historical Society for the launch of their "Let's Talk" series and premiere event "A People's Guide to Immigration History in Solana Beach on Tuesday, September 15 2026 from 5:30 to 6:45 PM.

Join them for this timely topic featuring Elaine Lewinnek, professor of American Studies at Cal State Fullerton, and Lisa Montes, descendant of original Mexican families who settled in La Colonia de Eden Gardens in Solana Beach in the 1920s.

This free talk will cover oppression, resistance, struggle, and transformation in Southern California and speakers will explore how this time compares to our past.

The FOSBL "Let's Talk" series aims to bring our community together to build awareness, promote discussion, and demystify important topics shaping our world. The talks highlight local area experts in our community and Q&A sessions are included.
