Warm A Senior's Heart with a Holiday Gift Basket
The holiday season can be a challenging time for seniors living alone, especially those who have lost a spouse or have family far away. To bring joy to these “Solo-Agers,” Solana Beach Community Connections (SBCC) is preparing for its annual Holiday Baskets distribution. SBCC members assemble and personally deliver beautiful gift baskets to “Solo-Agers” who may be experiencing loneliness.
SBCC’s mission is two-fold. First, identify mature adults who are residents of Solana Beach and are living alone. If you know someone needing an extra dose of joy, email name and contact information to info@solanabeachcc.org. Second, to help fill these baskets, SBCC is collecting gift items.
The City of Solana Beach partners with SBCC and generously contributes a location for collecting gift items. Items from the list may be dropped off beginning Monday, November 2, at the Solana Beach City Hall, 635 S. Highway 101, between 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Thursday. The Solana Beach City Hall is closed on alternate Fridays. This donation drive ends Thursday, December 10, after which assembly and delivery began.
Donation items include:
- 2027 Calendars
- Crossword/Sudoku puzzles
- Hot Chocolate packets

- Jar Openers
- Small packets of tissues
- Life Savers Candy.
